Career Background

Whitney is a trained psychotherapist, executive coach, organizational development consultant and research practitioner studying leadership. Her skills as a social worker provide her with the tools and expertise in emotional intelligence, complex communication, inclusive leadership, and managing change and transition. Whitney takes a strengths-based and systems thinking approach to her coaching practice. She is passionate about serving as a collaborative and strategic partner in helping leaders achieve their greatest potential and positively impacting others. She is certified in the Hogan Personality Assessment, Crucial Conversations, Positive Intelligence as well as the University of Pennsylvania’s Resilience program.

Whitney Williams is the Assistant Director of Leadership Development for faculty development at the University of Michigan Medical School.  Her focus over the course of her 10 years in academic medicine, include the advancement and development of early career and women leaders, fostering impactful and influential relationships through mentoring, coaching and sponsorship and creating positive cultures at the University of Michigan Health System. She serves as the lead for the organization's succession planning, executive coaching and advancing inclusive leadership initiatives, collaborating with faculty and administrative leaders in academic medicine.
