Responding to essay prompts can be tough. You may wonder if you should tell a professional or personal story. If there’s a particular kind of story the Admissions Committee is looking for. If yours is epic enough. Or unique enough. Or if the AdCom will stop reading after the last word in the word limit.
For those of you who are ready to get started on your applications for Fall 2019, the Michigan Ross application is now live. If you took a look at last year’s app, you’ll see that it’s largely the same.
One of the things we heard from this year’s applicants was that they loved having the option to choose which essay prompt to respond to. So we’re keeping that feature but providing two options per short answer group rather than three.
The Admissions team has been busy hosting more than 500 Round 2 candidates interviewing on-campus. For many, it’s their first time in Ann Arbor. While they are here, I encourage them to explore Ann Arbor and learn what students like them - from all over the world - love about Ann Arbor.
If you didn’t receive an interview invitation, the AdCom will do another review of your application to determine whether to waitlist or deny. Then on Friday, Feb 9, we will be releasing a batch of early denies.
The team is working hard to finalize decisions for our incredibly strong Round 1 applicant pool. Decisions will be released on Friday, December 15 at 12:01PM EST (i.e., the same time zone as New York).
