You’ll find positive business is a theme that runs through many of your Ross classes, but some courses focus specifically on the concept.
BA 200: Businesses & Leaders: The Positive Differences -- Explore what role you can play in business, and what role business can play in society, in this Signature Learning Experience that launches the Ross BBA core curriculum. It will help you decide how you want to contribute to the Ross community, build on your personal interests, and develop plans to guide your BBA experience toward your career goals. The course introduces some active learning approaches like live case studies, simulations, and guest speakers in addition to lectures, discussions, and online exercises. Taught in seminar-style class of 20 students or fewer.
STRAT 411: The Corporation in Society -- Examine the changing role of companies in the modern world. Start to develop the capabilities you need to meet the challenges of leading a business that is both socially responsible and economically competitive.
MO 455/456: Foundations in Positive Organizational Scholarship -- Gain a working, practical knowledge of this important and growing field. Explore the research demonstrating that positive organizations perform better for employees, shareholders, and the public. Participate in a hands-on application of POS ideas.
Michigan Ross is home to a number of centers and institutes focused on particular aspects of business, and several of them help students discover the Ross vision of positive business.
Center for Positive Organizations -- Brings important, useful research to life. Sponsors the Magnify program, in which students make tangible contributions and deepen their understanding of positive organizational scholarship.
Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise -- Fosters sustainable enterprise through research and education, in partnership with the School of Natural Resources & Environment.
William Davidson Institute -- Develops and disseminates research and expertise on issues affecting firms in emerging-market economies.
Business+Impact -- Provides leaders with practical skills and insight to tackle complex social challenges.
