IES Emerging Economies focuses on a hands-on comparative learning approach that allows students to enhance their in-classroom learning with visits to several emerging economies in South America. The first half of the program is held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the second half will take place in Santiago, Chile. Both countries demonstrate the pitfalls and opportunities of having an economy in transition within the global marketplace. Students will participate in a week-long, course-related trip to Peru, a country with one of the fastest growing economies in the world. By staying with a homestay family, students will get the true immersion experience into these different cultures.
