Uplift: Fostering Well-being and Resilience

Preparing you for tenure track positions at the world’s top institutions goes beyond the traditional PhD education. Increasing evidence suggests that focusing on your overall well-being and resilience can have a dramatic effect on your ability to thrive.

The Michigan Ross PhD program created Uplift to help you become an inspiring teacher, accomplished researcher, and respected colleague by offering support and events that promote health and well-being.

Uplift is led by Ross doctoral students, faculty and staff, and a Ross embedded Counselling and Psychological Services (CAPS) counselor.

Recent Uplift events include:

  • Being Resilient As A Doctoral Student - A Student Panel
  • Thriving in the New World of Work - Prof. Gretchen Spreitzer
  • How to Create a Productive and Engaging Writing Practice - Rena Seltzer
  • Managing Stress - Julie Kaplan, Licensed Master Social Worker
