Transportation Details

When you are planning your travel to and from the airport, check Slack to share rides, meet for coffee, and stay in touch with other admitted students and partners after GBR.

We will be providing some shuttle service for the weekend.

Check-In begins at 3 p.m. and concludes at 5 p.m. You can arrive anywhere in this window.

If you would like to attend both a Ross building tour AND an Ann Arbor Walking Tour, we recommend arriving at 3 p.m.

If you only plan on attending one of the two tours, we recommend arriving closer to 4 p.m.

If you do not plan on attending either a building tour or Ann Arbor Walking Tour, we advise arriving between the 4-5 p.m. window.

Ann Arbor Walking Tour - Join a current Ross student for a guided tour of Ann Arbor! Please dress accordingly in layers as weather is subject to change.

Start the weekend off with a welcome from FTMBA Program Managing Director, Matthew Ganderson, Dean Sharon Matusik of the Ross School of Business, and our MBA Council President.

Ann Arbor Eats Dinners
Various Locations

Mix, mingle, and enjoy Ann Arbor’s finest cuisine in a smaller group setting with fellow admitted students, partners, and current students! Your dinner invitation and restaurant location will be sent via calendar invitation closer to the event. These dinners are a great way to begin meeting more of your new classmates and ask our current students all about their experience at Ross in a casual setting.

You may choose to either walk or Uber/Lyft to your designated restaurant location. Please note, if you opt to walk, the restaurants will be about a 20 minute walk from Ross.

A Ross Night Out Featuring Risky Business

Enjoy a fun night of live music performed by Risky Business, the MBA student Rock band!

GBR Attendees will attend two sessions led by our Career Development Office and Sanger Leadership Center. You will be assigned to either the Maize Group or Blue group on your name tag, which you will receive at check-in.

“Tell Me About Yourself…” with the Ross Career Development Office

In this interactive session, the Ross Career Development Office Staff will help you craft a compelling “Tell Me About Yourself” response to start using during MBA networking situations. Networking is key to a successful job search, and it starts now. You’ll have the opportunity to practice using a structured framework and receive constructive feedback to equip yourself with the necessary tools and confidence for a successful MBA journey at Ross.

Unlock your leadership potential! In this dynamic session led by the Sanger Leadership Center, GBR participants will begin to uncover and identify your long-term MBA goals and chart a strategic path to propel you toward your desired destination. As you do so, we invite you to cultivate meaningful connections within our vibrant community and build at least 3 high-quality connections that showcase the power of collaboration. We’ll end the session exploring the wealth of resources at Ross, including: Insight into programs offered for personal and professional development as well as student testimonials sharing their unique journeys and experiences. You will not only set the foundation for your MBA success, but also to foster leadership skills that will guide you on your transformative academic and professional journey at Ross.

Section 6: Partner Programming at Ross

Partners are encouraged to attend this special partner-only programming led by our Partners Club at Ross (PCAR, also known as Section 6)! In this session, partners will learn more about the partner experience at Ross from those who are currently supporting their loved ones in the program. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.

Alumni return to campus share their greatest takeaways from Ross, where they are now, and how a Michigan Ross MBA helped get them there.

Housing 101 AND Meet the Student Clubs and Funds Fair

Local apartment complexes will be available with housing information to share at our Housing 101 Fair! Running Concurrently, we will also have our Meet the Student Clubs and Funds Fair, where you can have the chance to meet representatives from various student led clubs and investment funds on campus.

The Consortium Capstone

Gain a better understanding of what to expect as a Consortium member at Ross and meet Ross Consortium Alumni who will share their experiences. Students who applied through the Consortium are encouraged to attend.

3:15-5:15 p.m.

Explore Ann Arbor on Your Own!

If you are not attending the Consortium Capstone - Use this time to explore Ann Arbor on your own, head back to your hotel for a quick break, check out more housing options in Ann Arbor, etc.

5:30-7:30 p.m.

Maize & Blue Dinner at The Big House
Jack Roth Stadium Club at Michigan Stadium, 1201 S Main St Ann Arbor, MI 48109

Enjoy a VIP dinner at Michigan Stadium while connecting with current students and your soon-to-be classmates! This is a perennial highlight for all who attend GBR.

Partners

Partners are encouraged and invited to attend all events throughout GBR weekend. We will offer partner-specific programming on Friday morning, which will allow them to meet one another and spend time with current partners. 

Although we provide the partner programming, the decision to attend is ultimately up to each individual. If a partner prefers to stay with their admitted student and attend the student programming, they are welcome to do so.
