Digital Transformation and Business Model Innovation --- This course introduces students to the emerging nature of competition, new business models and ecosystems, and the critical capabilities that firms need to build to thrive in this digital business environment. We will then discuss the changing nature of business models as seen in technology-enabled businesses and the implications for traditional functional roles and capabilities within the firms. This course will draw on articles, case studies, and class discussions to develop a perspective on current technology-enabled business model innovation. We will study this trend towards ecosystem competition across several industries and develop an understanding of this important technology-enabled change including AI that is impacting every industry. Students interested in entrepreneurship, consulting, innovation, digital technology, operations, and other functional roles will find this course useful.
